salt pit

The other day in class we were assigned to research topics on the CIA’s Salt prison and torture methods. Which are used to get answers out of people that won’t crack on answers that are needed. The Salt Prison is actually a pit that the CIA uses in the center of Afghanistan to interrogate people that are suspicious. Salt prisons weren’t very popular but after 9/11 had happened they had spiked up and became widely known, because the attack had made the CIA angry because of the terrorists and wanted them to stop. I read a few different articles that I am going to tell you about.

One article was named at the CIA’s salt pit prison. This article was found on msn.com. When I read the article it had explained that no one really ever new about this going on in the world until now. I read that the things that they do to the prisoners are very in human. Some of the things that they would do to the prisoners: is not let them sleep, where no clothes, eat unhealthy food, take cold showers, and mock executions. Some other bad thing is listening to excessively loud music for over 22 hours a day.

When the United States started running out of new torcher methods they had decided to hire to psychiatrists to give them new ideas for new methods to crack the terrorists. Doctors that help them come up with the methods each go 40 million dollars to do it. The doctors that were chosen were James Mitchell and Bruce jessen. I bet your wondering how they came up with these torcher ideas. Well they used Wikipedia and the hand book of joseph Stalin to decide these tactics. They had got a questioning from vanity fair and as they quoted “were proud of the work we did for our country”.

I read off the Huffington post that one of the men in the salt pit was named gul Rahman which whom was shackled and left in the pit half nacked with no food. He had four other terrorist with him. When any of the men in the salt pit had died there families were informed that the man had died form natural causes.
